Obeisance
The Hollow bowed to the Emperor.
He brought news from the outside territories. There, not much is found beside the uninhabited territories. And the statue-like formations of shells of the Hollows. There most of the time, nothing moves because this is the place where Hollows are dumped after they become rigid in their movement. There is nothing there except plants. Every Hollow is welcomed there, and every one of them becomes part of the landscape, as the fauna embraces everything.
The news was that there among the still, there, somewhere deep in the shadows, there was some life sneaking inside and out barely visible. The reports didn’t say much, but that was enough for hope, that one day the Hollows who went entirely still may return back to the living.
There was, of course, another explanation: something moving among the shadows wasn’t repelled by the aura which was permeating the area by the Hollows being in the last stage.
Time will tell which it will be.
